Country Style Wedding Flowers with a Twist

11 Nov 2015

Newburgh Priory near York is a luxury wedding venue with a difference and was the perfect setting for a slightly quirky country style floral theme.

Set in the Howardian hills with views of the White Horse at Kilburn, Newburgh Priory is built on the site of an Augustinian priory.

We were delighted to have the chance to work here for Lucy and Rupert’s wedding.

We used a luxurious mix of hydrangea, roses, delphinium, larkspur, scabious and trailing jasmine, all arranged in a natural country style for a relaxed yet sophisticated feel.

Our informal floral theme was carried through from the pews ends in the church and hair flowers for the bride and bridesmaids to the flower displays in the ruins and the reception area.

The ruins of the original abbey provide an atmospheric backdrop for wedding photos and Lucy and Rupert’s guests enjoyed the lemonade bar that had been set up here for the occasion.

It was also lovely to work with Papakata Tipis.

Our designs were all individually styled with a quirky edge and were arranged on site
