An Elegant Christmas Wedding, Yorkshire Dales

7 Feb 2014

Helen and Matthew’s wedding took place at The Devonshire Fell Hotel in one of the most picturesque parts of Wharfedale between Christmas and New Year.

High quality fresh flowers can be hard to come by over the festive season when the Dutch flower markets close down so we chose long lasting and slow opening varieties that would look perfect on the wedding day.

An opulent mix of amaryllis, ranunculus, calla lilies and scented freesia were interspersed with dark ivy berries, blue spruce foliage, mistletoe, holly and ivy arranged in a natural style to suit the rustic rural venue.

Cinnamon bundles, pine cones and dark green foliage added extra interest.

A classic, gently tumbling teardrop bouquet featured white amaryllis heads with pretty clusters of Swarovski crystals, warm ivory pearls and a ribbon and lace handle held in place by pearl-headed pins.

Rings of flowers and foliage arranged around hurricane vases created beautiful table centres. The same candle vases had been used earlier to line the wedding aisle to maximize their use on the day.
