Country Garden Flowers, Rural Wedding Down on Farm

6 Dec 2013

A pretty mix of seasonal flowers helped to create a fairyland feel for Helen and David’s rural wedding in Bedale.

The ceremony at St Michael’s Church in Well was followed by a private marquee reception in a stunning countryside location at Oak Tree Farm.

The rural theme was maintained throughout with the occasional use of crops from the farm and pedestal arrangements set on milk churns outside the church entrance.

We used a fabulous mix of colourful flowers in cotton candy brights including stocks, larkspur, delphiniums, lisianthus, snapdragons, sweet peas, dill and astrantia for a natural yet elegant English country garden style.

South African varieties such as small protea, scented freesia and meadow daisies were interspersed with these to provide a link to the groom’s roots.

Small-leaved foliage in silvery grey, variegated green and white and soft lime added softness and texture. Slices of logs added interest to the table top designs.

The delicate, almost bohemian floral displays were striking and elegant proving that it’s possible to make a bold statement with country style flowers.
