How Much Should Your Wedding Flowers Cost?
20 Feb 2013
Flowers are one of the most important elements of any wedding day, adding colour and beauty to each stage of the proceedings.
The floral display will be as unique for each wedding as the bride herself, making it difficult to talk in terms of typical price ranges and with so many factors affecting the overall price of flowers, it can be one area of the big day where brides struggle to set a budget.
As a rough guide most experts agree that flowers should represent approximately 10% of the overall wedding budget if they are a medium to high priority for the couple. If the flowers are a very high priority this should rise to between 15% and 20% of the budget, or decrease to approximately 8% if a lower priority.
This is where bespoke floral design really comes into its own. At Twisted Willow we work closely with a bride and her family using our knowledge and experience to make the very best use of the budget available to create a stunning and memorable impact.
Prices will vary according to the types of flowers chosen, availability and the date of your wedding. The recession has also had an impact on cost as the number of Dutch growers has fallen significantly. Any wedding just before or after Christmas, Valentines or Mother’s Day should build in extra funds to cover increased flower prices.
As well as discussing interesting colour combinations, flower varieties and arrangements that match your own vision for the day, we can advise on the seasonal blooms that will offer the best value for the time of year.
Whilst it is possible to create a stylish effect on a tight budget, flowers are so integral to the ambience of a wedding that this truly is one area where the more you spend, the greater the impact you will achieve –
Huge blooms fresh from the market…
Delicate antique creams and pinks set against bold and beautiful contemporary colours and foliage …
Vintage inspired table settings that create an atmosphere of
romance and charm …
Far from being the finishing touches, memorable floral displays like these will become the focus of bridal memories for years to come.
‘I was incredibly lucky to have a wedding with so many wonderful elements. I have to say the flowers would have to be my favourite. Every time I look at my wedding pictures I am blown away at how beautiful everything looked. It was a huge pleasure working with you. With Love and Best Wishes Becky xxx’
