Our Weddings at The Hospitium in York

2 Oct 2013

Twisted Willow has been lucky enough to have been the chosen florist for some gorgeous weddings at The Hospitium, a unique venue in York that dates back to the 14th Century.

The most recent of these was last weekend when we created a rustic woodland theme for  Katheryn and James.

They were married downstairs in the beautiful stone room. We dressed the two front pillars with informal arrangements of trailing ivy, bunched lavender and horse chestnut leaves.

Upstairs the theme continued, using the bride’s chosen combination of peach roses and white gypsophilia.

The bride added a personal touch to the floral arrangements with her own hand made paper flowers. The couple also included their surname in the Mr & Mrs wording on the top table.

We always enjoy working with brides to create imaginative floral themes for this historic setting in the beautiful Museum Gardens and overlooked by the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey.

Here are some images from some of our previous weddings at the Hospitium, which we hope will provide inspiration for anyone considering this stunning venue for their own wedding
