Ripley Castle Wedding Using Fresh Cut Garden Flowers

6 May 2014

Photography by Olivia Brabbs

Freshly cut hellebores from the mother of the bride’s garden gave the floral arrangements for Jules and David’s wedding a uniquely personal touch.

The couple were married at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bishop Thornton before celebrating their marriage with a reception at Ripley Castle.

Dusky pink Amnesia roses and scented freesia complemented the home-grown soft aubergine hellebores beautifully for a traditional country garden style floral theme.

Rosemary, silvery grey eucalyptus and senecio foliage added a classic touch.

The bridal bouquet was a tumbling shower of hellebores, Amnesia roses, seasonal blooms and ivory pearl clusters. An ivory sateen ribbon handle was held in place with a line of pearl pins.

A striking combination of hellebores, rosemary and foliage was used for the groom’s buttonhole

The flower girls carried mini posies and the remaining buttonholes featured a simpler design of hellebores and leaves
