Seasonal Sparkle for a Magical Winter Wedding
23 Jun 2014
A country garden theme with a seasonal twist was the perfect choice for Alicia and Jonathan’s winter wedding at Swinton Park.
White and ivory flowers and rich green foliage were gathered in loose arrangements for a just-picked natural feel.
Large calla lilies and cymbidium orchids were a sophisticated choice, looking stunning against blue spruce, mistletoe, asparagus fern and silver grey eucalyptus.
The overall effect was classic and traditional with candles and fairy lights adding romance and sparkle.
An elegant over the arm bridal bouquet used a fabulous mix of large headed white calla lilies and white cymbidium orchids with rosemary, eucalyptus, asparagus fern and frosted berries.
Crystals and looped strings of ivory pearls added glamour to the design.
The bridesmaid bouquets combined large headed ivory roses with mixed foliage and loose flowing asparagus fern arranged in a relaxed style, tied with an ivory velvet ribbon bow.
A single white calla lily, bay leaves and a sprig of mistletoe created a unique yet classic buttonhole for the groom.
Glass hurricane vases and a scattering of fresh ivory rose petals adorned the aisle in the library, where the wedding ceremony was held.
A selection of candles in silver candlesticks and Twisted Willow nightlights decorated with touches of seasonal foliage looked beautiful on the registrar’s table which was framed by two striking floral arrangements in silver urns on white pedestals.
“Well what can I say other than THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I’m sure every bride writes after their wedding to say how much they loved their flowers, but I’m also sure that none of them mean it as much as I do. It was like getting married in a magical, enchanted, romantic yet sophisticated fairtytale and entirely down to your creative flare. The word magical was honestly on the lips of every guest.
I’m also sure that you get inundated with photographs of brides on their wedding day to prove to you what an amazing job you did and how beautiful the day was so I will certainly be back in touch with some pictures for you. Please pass on my special thanks to the other girls in your florist who helped to create and deliver the most phenomenal ceremony room and bouquets I’ve ever seen, we really were blown away.”
Best wishes from
Alicia and Jonathan
