Stylish Ways to Personalise your Bridal Bouquet

7 Aug 2015

Your wedding day is a uniquely personal occasion and you can make it even more memorable by adding your own special touch to your wedding flowers designs.

There are lots of ways to personalise bouquets and arrangements and we’ve put together a selection of ideas from past weddings to inspire you.

Add a flower from your own garden

If you have a favourite seasonal bloom or a special plant in your garden we can design a bouquet that incorporates and complements it.

In this bouquet the bride’s mother had grown the hellebores especially for the occasion and we created a design that made excellent use of the flowers from her garden alongside the bride’s other favourite blooms.

The bridal bouquet was a tumbling shower of hellebores, Amnesia roses, seasonal blooms and ivory pearl clusters.

Add a brooch or heirloom to your bouquet

Brides often want to include an item of sentimental value in their bouquet design such as a brooch or family heirloom.

For this bouquet we secured the ribbon handle with a brooch belonging to the bride’s grandmother and the flower colours were chosen to complement the shade of the brooch.

Add buttons and beads to your bouquet

Buttons and beads can add colour and interest to a bouquet. Here we used dolly mixture coloured buttons to enhance the soft pink and blue tones of the flowers.

The simplicity of this blue hydrangea is complemented by the addition of a sparkling silver butterfly resting gracefully on the flower head.

Pearls can be used to add a touch of glamour to a classic bouquet

Add texture to your wedding flowers

Seed pods and berries are a great way to add seasonality to autumn wedding flowers and  can be used all year round to create texture and interest.

In this bouquet, thistles were added to reflect the bride’s Scottish roots.

Adding feathers is another lovely way to add texture to your bouquet.
