Twisted Willow: Summer wedding flowers
15 Apr 2015
Summer is peak season for weddings and the flower options for brides are enormous, whether you are looking for a natural, country garden themes or a more formal and classic style.
Cottage garden varieties of seasonal summer flowers were used here to create a soft and fresh country style theme.
We used a classic summer colour palette of blue, white and ivory.
English summer favourites including sweet peas, delphiniums, peonies, roses and larkspur are styled informally for a hand-picked effect.
This take on the country garden theme uses a completely different colour palette.
We gave this pretty pink scheme a contemporary feel by adding a touch of bright fuchsia to the mix.
We used a mix of larkspur, delphiniums, hydrangea, lisianthus and gypsophilia.
Trailing jasmine, ivy and soft fern are combined with plenty of mixed country garden style foliage to create a very natural look.
Summer also lends itself to a very bright colour palette and we managed this to great effect for this wedding at Swinton Park.
Shades of yellow, red, orange, pink, violet and blue were used with plenty of green foliage.
The bride carried a bouquet of brightly coloured flowers gathered loosely and incorporating pretty pastel-coloured spray rose buds and delicate white gypsophila.
Cotton candy brights were used again here for an English country garden style wedding.
Stocks, larkspur, delphiniums, lisianthus, snapdragons, sweet peas, dill and astrantia give a natural look that evokes the scent and colour of summertime
Small-leaved foliage in silvery grey, variegated green and white and soft lime add softness and texture.
For a more classically styled floral theme, roses and peonies are a sophisticated choice.
Crisp white roses, peonies, scented freesia and lisianthus are classically styled for this wedding at Allerton Castle.
We arranged beautiful white blooms embellished with clusters of pearls to create a stunning ball design bouquet for the bride.
For a vintage theme, pastel colours and seasonal summer flowers can create a beautiful effect.
Coral, lemon and taupe roses and spray roses, white larkspur, pale blue delphiniums and ivory and coral peonies are arranged here with sprigs of herbs and greenery.
Shades of cream, ivory and peach with soft lime green and pale blue create a country vintage look.
Here we used a palette of red and cerise pink with touches of purple, cream and soft lime green to create a relaxed summer theme.
The colours are bright and cheery and the arrangements are classically styled for a relaxed yet elegant effect.
Colour is again used beautifully here and our bride chose an incredible rich blue, purple and lime green colour theme.
Blue hydrangea, agapanthus and alliums with bold loops of grasses were used for the bridesmaid bouquets.
The bride’s stylish bouquet featured white hydrangea and orchids.
